Agrobiotechnopark to be created in Krasnoyarsk on the basis of KrasGAU

The agrobiotechnopark, which will bring the development of agriculture to a new level, will be created on the basis of the Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University (KrasGAU), the governor's press service reported. The prospects of creating an agrobiotechnopark in the region were discussed during the meeting by the head of the region Mikhail Kotyukov and the rector of KrasGAU Natalia Pyzhikova. "In fact, this is the formation of a network of competence centers in the region, which will include such areas as breeding and seed production, engineering, biotechnology for agriculture, processing technologies, including milk, reproductive technologies of animal husbandry. There is a basis for creating such an agrotechnopark in the region," the message says. It is noted that the Agrarian University has actively joined the process of developing a program for scientific and technological development of the agro-industrial complex along with the Ministry of Agriculture of the region, the Krasnoyarsk Scientific Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Siberian Federal University. "The Krasnoyarsk Territory annually confirms its status as a leader in various areas of the agro-industrial complex. So, we are the first in the Siberian Federal District in terms of grain yields. We have been holding the leadership in Russia in terms of rapeseed production for the fifth year. We have something to be proud of in terms of scientific achievements of the agro–industrial complex - this, of course, is the merit of Krasnoyarsk Agrarian University, which today ranks among the top ten agricultural universities in Russia," the press service quotes Kotyukov as saying. The governor stressed that the authorities will continue to support the university so that it develops and does not give up its positions.
